About TurkishExpats.ch

The thinking behind a quieter network.

The homepage tells you what this is. This page tells you why it exists and how it is run, for anyone who wants the depth.

The whole TurkishExpats.ch idea

Professional life is often shaped by the people we know and the introductions we receive.

Most Turkish professionals in Switzerland are already connected somehow. Through WhatsApp groups, LinkedIn, friends, colleagues, and people they meet along the way.

The problem is that, over time, people become difficult to find.

WhatsApp groups grow. New people arrive. Important messages disappear. Some groups stay active for years, others slowly fade away. Either way, the same thing happens: the network grows, but the people behind the names become harder to discover.

You know they are there. You just don't know who they are.

The network exists, but discovering it often depends on timing and luck.

TurkishExpats.ch was created for that gap. Not to replace WhatsApp. Not to replace LinkedIn. Just to make people easier to discover.

Who are the Turkish professionals around me in Switzerland?

Who it's for

TurkishExpats.ch is primarily built for Turkish professionals living in Switzerland.

But life is rarely that simple.

Some members were born and raised in Turkey. Others came through a spouse, a partner, a friendship, a business connection, or years spent living and working in Turkey.

You may not be Turkish yourself, yet still feel closely connected to the people, culture, and conversations that bring this network together.

That's perfectly fine.

TurkishExpats.ch is built around the Turkish community in Switzerland, but there is room for those who genuinely feel part of it.

What TurkishExpats.ch is, and what it is not

What it is: a reviewed member directory, plus a quiet way to ask for an introduction. You build a profile, you look around, and when someone seems worth knowing, you ask.

What it is not: a feed to scroll or an audience to build. If you want reach, LinkedIn is better at that. This is for connections, not visibility.

What does TurkishExpats.ch do that WhatsApp and LinkedIn don't?

Both are useful, and this is a replacement for neither. They just solve different problems.

WhatsApp groups are good for conversation and bad for discovery: the list grows, messages sink, and the people behind the names stay invisible.

LinkedIn is a stage: public, global, built for visibility. Here there is no stage. Profiles are visible only to reviewed, logged-in members, and nobody can cold-message you: someone asks for an introduction, and you decide. A global platform also can't know that your canton matters, or what a B permit means for a job search. This network is built around exactly that context.

Keep both. Think of TurkishExpats.ch as the quiet layer underneath, where Turkish professionals in Switzerland actually find each other.

Why is TurkishExpats.ch in English?

Our members work in hospitals in Bern, labs in Geneva, startups in Zug. For many, English is already the working language. And Switzerland has four national languages; picking one would mean picking sides. English is the neutral meeting point.

Members talk to each other in whatever language they like: Turkish, German, French, English, or all of them in one conversation, as it usually goes.

How membership review works

Every application is reviewed by a real person. There is no automatic approval.

We check for a real professional identity and a genuine connection to the Turkish community in Switzerland.

Approved profiles are visible only to approved members. The directory is meant for respectful, relevant introductions, not spam, scraping, or cold-selling.
